How to use this tool?
This calculator estimates the damage a Pokémon move will deal using the standard formula. Follow these steps:
- Enter the attacker's Level (1–100). Default is 50.
- Input the Attack or Special Attack stat of the attacking Pokémon.
- Input the Defense or Special Defense stat of the defending Pokémon.
- Set the move's Base Power (e.g., 80 for a standard move).
- Choose STAB: "Yes (1.5x)" if the move matches the attacker's type, otherwise "No".
- Select Type Effectiveness based on the target's type(s): Immune (0x), Not Very Effective (0.25x or 0.5x), Normal (1x), or Super Effective (2x or 4x).
- Adjust the Random Factor (0.85–1.0) to simulate damage variation. Use 1 for maximum damage.
- Set Other Modifiers (e.g., 1 for no modifiers, 1.5 for items like Life Orb).
- Click "Calculate Damage" to see the result and a formula breakdown.
Note: All stats and power values must be positive integers. The result shows the final damage in HP.

Frequently Asked Questions
It uses the standard Pokémon damage formula: Damage = floor((((2 * Level / 5 + 2) * BasePower * Attack / Defense) / 50 + 2) * STAB * Type * Random * Other).
STAB stands for Same-Type Attack Bonus. If the move's type matches one of the Pokémon's types, damage is multiplied by 1.5.
Type effectiveness multiplies damage based on the matchup (e.g., 2x for super effective, 0.5x for not very effective, 0x for immune).
