How to use this tool?
This calculator determines how many bones you need to reach a target Prayer level in Old School RuneScape.
- Set Current & Target Levels – Enter your current Prayer level (1–99) and the level you want to reach.
- Choose Bone Type – Select the bone or ensouled head you plan to use. Each has a fixed XP value.
- Enter Price (Optional) – Input the GP cost per bone to see the total cost.
- Select Altar Type – Choose your training method:
- Normal Altar – 100% XP per bone.
- Gilded Altar – 350% XP (2x burn chance).
- Ectofuntus – 400% XP.
- Chaos Altar – 100% XP + 50% chance to save bones.
- Bonecrusher Option – Check this to auto-bury bones for 200% XP (ignores altar bonus).
- Click Calculate – The result shows the exact number of bones needed and total GP cost (if price was entered).
Note: All inputs must be numbers; levels must be between 1 and 99, and target must be higher than current.

The chaos altar gives 100% XP per bone but has a 50% chance to not consume the bone, effectively reducing the number of bones needed by half on average.
Superior dragon bones offer the highest XP per bone (150 XP) without ensouled heads. Ensouled dragon heads give 910 XP but require a reanimation spell.
