This guide explains how to use the CASPA GPA Calculator to compute your GPA using the standard CASPA grading scale.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Add Courses: Click the Add Course button to add a new course row. Each row includes fields for course name (optional), grade, and credit hours.
- Enter Grade: Select the letter grade from the dropdown menu. The calculator uses the CASPA scale: A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, C-=1.7, D+=1.3, D=1.0, F=0.0.
- Enter Credits: Input the number of credit hours for the course (e.g., 3, 4, or 0.5 for half-credit). Use decimal values if needed (e.g., 1.5). Credits must be greater than zero.
- Remove Courses: Click the trash icon on any row to delete it. At least one course must remain.
- Calculate GPA: Click the Calculate GPA button. Your GPA will display below, along with total grade points, total credits, and the calculation breakdown.
Important Notes
- All credit values must be positive numbers (e.g., 0.5, 1, 3). Zero or negative credits are not allowed.
- The calculator automatically computes GPA as: Total Grade Points ÷ Total Credits.
- If you see an error message, correct the highlighted issue (e.g., missing credits or invalid input) and recalculate.
- Results update instantly after clicking the button.
Example: A course with grade A (4.0) and 3 credits contributes 12.0 grade points. If you have two such courses, total points = 24.0, total credits = 6, GPA = 4.00.
