How to Use the Weighted GPA Calculator
This calculator computes your weighted GPA on a 100-point scale, accounting for course difficulty (Standard, Honors, or AP/IB). Follow these steps:
- Enter Course Details: For each course, provide:
- Course Name (optional label)
- Credits (e.g., 3.0, 0.5; must be non-negative)
- Grade (0–100) (numeric score)
- Weight (select from dropdown: Standard, Honors, or AP/IB)
- Add More Courses: Click Add Course to include additional rows.
- Calculate GPA: Click Calculate GPA. The result shows your weighted GPA out of 100, plus a breakdown of each course’s contribution.
- Reset: Click Reset to clear all entries and start over.
How Weighting Works: Honors adds 5 points to your grade (weight multiplier 0.5 × 10), and AP/IB adds 10 points (multiplier 1 × 10). Standard adds no extra points. The weighted GPA = Σ (weighted grade × credits) ÷ Σ credits.
Note: All grades must be between 0 and 100, and credits must be non-negative. Courses with zero credits are skipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
A weighted GPA takes into account the difficulty of your courses by adding extra points for honors, AP, or IB classes, typically on a scale up to 100.
For standard courses, the grade remains as entered. For honors, we add 5 points; for AP/IB, we add 10 points. Then we multiply by credits and average over total credits.
The calculator will show an error message. Grades must be between 0 and 100 inclusive.
