How to Use the Pathfinder Point Buy Calculator
This calculator helps you allocate ability scores for a Pathfinder character using the point-buy system. Follow these steps:
- Select a Point Total – Choose from the dropdown (Low Fantasy 10, Standard 15, High Fantasy 20, or Epic 25). This is your budget.
- Enter Ability Scores – For each of the six abilities (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma), input an integer between 7 and 18. Default is 10.
- Click "Calculate" – The button runs the calculation.
- Review the Result – A card shows total points used, your remaining points, and a cost breakdown per ability. If you exceed the budget, an error message appears.
Important: All scores must be whole numbers (no decimals) within the 7–18 range. The calculator uses standard Pathfinder costs (e.g., 10 costs 0, 14 costs 5, 18 costs 17).
