How to use this tool?
This calculator helps you evaluate the offensive type coverage of up to four Pokémon move types against all 18 defending types.
- Select move types – Use the dropdown menus (up to 4) to choose the types of your Pokémon’s moves. Leave any slot empty if you have fewer than 4 moves.
- Calculate coverage – Click the Calculate Coverage button to see the results.
- Read the grid – Each defending type shows its best effectiveness among your selected moves:
- Immune (0×) – No effect.
- Not Very (0.5×) – Not very effective.
- Neutral (1×) – Normal effectiveness.
- Super (2×) – Super effective.
- Weak? (4×) – Double super effective (rare).
- Check the Coverage Score – The total score (out of 18) sums the best effectiveness for each defending type. A higher score means better overall coverage. Perfect coverage (score 18) means every type is hit for at least neutral damage.
Tip: Try different combinations to find moves that cover as many types as possible, especially those that are immune or resistant to your current set.
