How to use this tool?
This calculator computes your middle school GPA based on letter grades you enter. Follow these steps:
- Enter Grades: In the text area, type one letter grade per line. Valid grades are: A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, F. For example:

C - Select Grading Scale: Choose a scale from the dropdown. The default "Standard" uses: A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0.0. The "Weighted" option adds +0.5 for honors courses (if applicable).
- Calculate: Click the Calculate GPA button. Your GPA (average of all grade points) appears below, rounded to two decimal places, along with a summary of the grades entered.
Note: All grades are case-insensitive. If you enter an invalid grade, an error message will show. The calculator uses a 4.0 scale with plus/minus variations (e.g., A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3).
