What the results mean:
- Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation.
- Average BMR for your age is a population-based estimate.
- Metabolic age compares your BMR to the average: a lower metabolic age (green) means your BMR is higher than average for your age, indicating better metabolic health. A higher metabolic age (yellow) suggests the opposite.

Frequently Asked Questions
Metabolic age is a comparison of your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) to the average BMR for your chronological age. If your BMR is higher than average, your metabolic age is lower (meaning your metabolism is more efficient).
We calculate your BMR using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation based on your gender, weight, height, and age. Then we compare it to the average BMR for your age group. The difference is used to estimate your metabolic age.
Yes, lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and muscle mass can affect your BMR, thus changing your metabolic age. Improving your health can lower your metabolic age.
