How to Use the Concrete Cost Calculator
This calculator estimates the total cost of concrete for a slab based on its dimensions, mix type, bag cost, and waste factor. All measurements are in imperial units (feet and inches).
- Enter Dimensions: Input the slab’s Length (ft), Width (ft), and Depth (in). All must be positive numbers.
- Select Mix Type: Choose from:
- Standard (1:2:3) – default mix
- High Strength (1:1.5:3) – uses more cement (higher cost)
- Lightweight – uses less cement (lower cost)
- Set Cost per Bag: Enter the price of one bag of concrete mix in dollars (e.g., 5.50).
- Adjust Waste Factor: Default is 10% to account for spillage or overage. Set to 0 if no waste.
- Calculate: Click the Calculate Cost button. Results show:
- Total Cost – estimated price for all bags needed.
- Bags Needed – rounded up to the nearest whole bag.
- Volume – slab volume in cubic feet (without waste).
- Waste – the waste percentage you entered.
If any input is invalid or missing, an error message will appear. Adjust values and recalculate as needed.
