How to Use the Blood Type Calculator
- Select Mother's Blood Type – Choose from A, B, AB, or O.
- Select Mother's Rh Factor – Choose Positive (+) or Negative (-).
- Select Father's Blood Type – Choose from A, B, AB, or O.
- Select Father's Rh Factor – Choose Positive (+) or Negative (-).
- Click "Calculate Possible Blood Types" – The calculator will display all possible blood types for a child based on the parents' inputs.
What the results mean: The output lists every possible ABO blood type (A, B, AB, O) combined with Rh factor (+ or -) that a child could inherit. For example, "A+, A-, O+" means the child could have any of those blood types.
Note: All inputs are required. The calculator uses standard genetics: ABO alleles (A and B are co-dominant, O is recessive) and Rh factor (positive dominant over negative). No special units or formats are needed—just select from the dropdowns.

Frequently Asked Questions
The calculator is based on standard Mendelian inheritance patterns for ABO and Rh blood groups. It provides all possible blood types the child could have given the parents' types. However, rare genetic variations (e.g., Bombay phenotype) are not considered.
Yes. For example, two parents with type A can have a child with type O if both are carriers of the O allele.
Rh factor is a protein on red blood cells. Positive (+) means the protein is present; negative (-) means it is absent. Rh+ is dominant over Rh-.
