How to Use the TI-RADS Calculator
This calculator estimates the malignancy risk of thyroid nodules using the TI-RADS scoring system. Follow these steps:
- Select each feature from the dropdown menus:
- Composition – Cystic, spongiform, mixed, or solid.
- Echogenicity – Anechoic, hyper/isoechoic, hypoechoic, or very hypoechoic.
- Shape – Wider-than-tall (0 pts) or taller-than-wide (3 pts).
- Margin – Smooth/ill-defined, lobulated/irregular, or extra-thyroidal extension.
- Echogenic Foci – None, punctate foci, rim calcifications, or punctate foci with shadowing.
- Click "Calculate".
- View your total score, TI-RADS category (TR1–TR5), and FNA recommendation based on nodule size thresholds.
Note: No unit conversions are needed—all inputs are categorical selections. The score ranges from 0 to 15 points.
