Frequently Asked Questions

The composite score is calculated using the formula: (MC Correct - 0.25 * MC Incorrect) * 1.09 + (SAQ1 + SAQ2 + SAQ3) * 3.06 + DBQ * 5.0 + LEQ * 4.0. The composite is then mapped to an AP score (1-5) using the College Board's approximate cutoffs.

The approximate cutoffs are: 1: 0-37, 2: 38-51, 3: 52-68, 4: 69-86, 5: 87-130. These are estimates and may vary slightly each year.
