How to use this tool?
How to Use the Wordle Calculator
- Enter Green Letters – Type 5 characters using letters for correct positions and
?for unknowns (e.g.,?A?E?). Leave empty if none. - Enter Yellow Letters – Type 5 characters with letters in wrong positions and
?for unknowns (e.g.,B?C??). Leave empty if none. - Enter Gray Letters – Type letters not in the word (no spaces or separators, e.g.,
FGH). Leave empty if none. - Click "Find Best Guesses" – The calculator filters a word list and shows up to 10 best matching words.
- Read the Result – If matches exist, they appear in green. If none, a red error message shows.
Tips:
- All inputs are case-insensitive; the calculator converts to uppercase.
- Green and yellow inputs must be exactly 5 characters (use
?for blanks). - Gray input accepts up to 26 letters; non-letter characters are ignored.
- If you get "No matching words," double-check your clues for consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions
You input the known letters from your Wordle game: green (correct position), yellow (wrong position), and gray (not in word). The calculator filters a list of common 5-letter words to suggest the best guesses.
Enter the letters you know are correct and in the correct position. Use a question mark (?) for unknown positions. Example: ?A?E? means the second letter is A and fourth is E.
Enter the letters that are in the word but in a different position. Use ? for unknown positions. Example: B?C?? means the word contains B and C, but not in positions 1 and 3 respectively.
Enter the letters that are not in the word at all. You can enter them without spaces, e.g., FGH.
