How to Use the Knife Tradeup Calculator
This calculator helps you evaluate a tradeup contract by comparing the total cost of input items against the expected value of target knives.
- Set the number of input items (max 10) and target knives (max 10) using the number fields.
- For each input item, enter its cost and value (in dollars). All costs are summed automatically.
- For each target knife, enter its probability (as a decimal between 0 and 1) and value. Probabilities must sum to 1 (e.g., 0.5, 0.3, 0.2).
- Click Calculate to see:
- Total Cost – sum of all input costs.
- Expected Value – weighted average of target values.
- Profit/Loss – expected value minus total cost.
- Probability of Profit – chance of getting a knife worth more than the total cost.
Tip: Use positive profit and high probability to decide if the tradeup is worthwhile.

Frequently Asked Questions
A knife tradeup is a contract in CS:GO/CS2 where you trade in 10 items (typically of a certain rarity) for a chance to receive a knife or other high-value item from a specific collection.
Expected value is the sum of each target knife's value multiplied by its probability. It represents the average outcome over many tradeups.
You need the cost and value of each input item (up to 10), and the probability and value of each possible target knife (up to 10). Probabilities must sum to 1.
