How to Use the UTK GPA Calculator
- Add a course: Click the Add Course button to create a new row. Each row represents one course.
- Select a grade: From the dropdown, choose the letter grade (A, A-, B+, etc.). UTK uses a 4.0 scale with plus/minus grades.
- Enter credit hours: Type the number of credit hours for the course (e.g., 3, 4, or 0.5 for labs). Must be a positive number, increments of 0.5.
- Remove a course: Click the trash icon next to a row to delete it.
- Calculate GPA: Press the Calculate GPA button. Your GPA (weighted average) appears below, along with the formula: total grade points ÷ total credit hours.
- Clear all: Click Clear All to reset and start over.
Note: All fields are required. Ensure credit hours are greater than zero. The result shows your GPA rounded to two decimal places.
