How to Use the UTA GPA Calculator
This calculator computes your cumulative GPA based on course credits and letter grades. Follow these steps:
- Enter Credits – In each course row, type the number of credits (e.g., 3, 4, or 1.5). Use half-credits if needed.
- Select Grade – Choose the letter grade you received from the dropdown (e.g., A, B+, C-). Each grade has a fixed point value (A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, etc.).
- Add Courses – Click Add Course to include more rows for additional classes.
- Calculate – Click Calculate GPA. The result shows your GPA, total quality points, and total credits.
- Reset – Use Reset to clear all entries and start over.
Formula: GPA = Total Quality Points ÷ Total Credits (e.g., 12.0 points ÷ 3 credits = 4.0).
Tip: Ensure all credit fields have positive numbers. The calculator will alert you if any are missing or invalid.
