How to Use the Puppy Size Calculator
This calculator estimates your puppy's adult weight based on current weight, age, and breed size category.
- Enter Current Weight (lbs): Input your puppy's weight in pounds (e.g., 5). Use decimal values if needed (e.g., 3.5).
- Enter Age (weeks): Input your puppy's age in weeks (e.g., 8). Half-weeks are allowed (e.g., 10.5).
- Select Breed Size Category: Choose the most appropriate option:
- Toy – up to 12 lbs adult
- Small – 12–25 lbs
- Medium – 25–50 lbs (default)
- Large – 50–100 lbs
- Giant – 100+ lbs
- Click "Calculate": The estimated adult weight appears in pounds. If your puppy is near adult age (based on breed), the result equals current weight.
Note: All inputs must be positive numbers. Use imperial units (pounds and weeks). The formula uses breed-specific multipliers and age thresholds for accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions
The calculator provides an estimate based on typical growth patterns for each breed size category. Individual puppies may vary due to genetics, nutrition, and health.
Use it when your puppy is between 8 and 16 weeks old for best accuracy. The closer your puppy is to the age threshold for its breed size, the more accurate the estimate.
If your puppy is older than the typical age threshold for its breed size (e.g., 20 weeks for medium breeds), the calculator assumes it is near adult size and returns the current weight as the estimate.
