How to Use the PPP Calculator
This calculator computes the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP)-adjusted value of an amount from Country A to Country B using their exchange rates relative to the US Dollar (USD).
- Enter Amount: Input the amount in Country A’s currency (e.g., 100). Must be a positive number.
- Enter Exchange Rate A: Provide the number of Country A’s currency units per 1 USD (e.g., 1.2). Must be positive.
- Enter Exchange Rate B: Provide the number of Country B’s currency units per 1 USD (e.g., 0.8). Must be positive.
- Calculate: Click the “Calculate PPP” button. The result shows the PPP-adjusted value in Country B’s currency.
Formula: PPP Value = Amount × (Rate B / Rate A)
Example: If Amount = 100, Rate A = 1.2, Rate B = 0.8, then PPP = 100 × (0.8 / 1.2) ≈ 66.67.
Note: All inputs must be positive numbers. The result is displayed with two decimal places.

Frequently Asked Questions
Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is an economic theory that compares different countries' currencies through a 'basket of goods' approach.
PPP is calculated by multiplying the amount in currency A by the ratio of exchange rate B to exchange rate A (Rate B / Rate A).
Exchange rates indicate how much one currency is worth in terms of another. Here, rates are given as units per USD.
