Frequently Asked Questions

We sum the power consumption of all selected components and multiply by 1.2 to provide a 20% headroom, then round up to the nearest 50W increment for standard PSU ratings.

A 20% headroom ensures the PSU operates efficiently and can handle transient power spikes, prolonging the PSU's lifespan and maintaining system stability.

The calculator will still recommend a PSU based on the same formula. For extreme builds, consider high-wattage PSUs from reputable brands.
