This calculator assumes you use muriatic acid to lower pH. If your pH is below target, you would need a base like soda ash, but this calculator only provides acid dosage for lowering pH.
If your current levels are already at or above target for chlorine, alkalinity, or hardness, no adjustment is recommended. For pH, only acid addition is calculated if current pH is higher than target.
