How to use this tool?

This calculator helps you estimate the volume, surface area, and liner size for a rectangular or circular pond. All measurements must be entered in feet.

  1. Select pond shape – Choose Rectangular or Circular from the dropdown.
  2. Enter dimensions:
    • For rectangular: Length, Width, and Depth (all in feet).
    • For circular: Diameter and Depth (in feet).
  3. Set liner overlap – Default is 2 feet; adjust as needed (this adds extra material around the pond edge).
  4. Click “Calculate” – Results appear below showing:
    • Volume in cubic feet (ft³).
    • Surface area in square feet (ft²).
    • Liner size – either a rectangle (length × width) or a circle diameter, including depth and overlap.
  5. Review the formula – An info box shows the exact calculation steps for transparency.

Tip: Ensure all inputs are positive numbers. If errors appear, correct the highlighted fields and recalculate.
