How to use this tool?
This calculator helps you estimate the minimum recommended wattage for your PC's power supply unit (PSU). It calculates the total power draw of your main components and adds a 20% safety headroom, then rounds up to the nearest 50W.
- Select your components from the dropdown menus:
- CPU and GPU – these are required fields.
- RAM Sticks, Storage Drives, Case Fans, and USB Devices – optional but recommended for accuracy.
- Click “Calculate Wattage”. If you forget to select a CPU or GPU, a red error message will appear.
- Read the results:
- The large number is the Recommended PSU Wattage (includes 20% headroom).
- Below that, a Power Breakdown shows each component’s wattage and the total before headroom.
- A Suggested PSU gives a common PSU size (e.g., “A 600W PSU is recommended”).
Note: All power values are in watts (W). The calculator uses typical TDP/load values for common components. For overclocked or custom builds, add extra margin manually.
