How to Use the Menopause Age Calculator
- Enter family history (optional): Provide your mother’s and/or sister’s menopause age (if known). Values must be between 30 and 65.
- Select smoking status: Choose “Never smoked” or “Current or past smoker.” Smoking reduces your estimated age.
- Enter BMI (optional): Input your Body Mass Index (10–50). A BMI over 30 lowers the estimate; under 18.5 raises it.
- Enter age at first period (required): Provide the age you started menstruating (8–20). Early onset (<12) increases the estimate; late onset (>14) decreases it.
- Select exercise frequency: Choose from Sedentary, Moderate (2–3 times/week), or Active (4+ times/week). More exercise raises the estimate.
- Click “Calculate”: Your estimated menopause age (rounded to the nearest year) appears below, along with a detailed breakdown of adjustments.
Note: All inputs are optional except “Age at first period.” The calculator uses a base age of 51 and applies weighted adjustments based on your entries.
