How to Use the Grade Average Calculator
This calculator computes your simple or weighted average from numeric grades (0–100) or letter grades (A+ to F). Follow these steps:
- Set the number of subjects (1–20) using the "Number of Subjects" field.
- Enter each grade in the provided fields. You can use:
- A number between 0 and 100 (e.g.,
85), or - A letter grade (e.g.,
B+,A-,F).
- A number between 0 and 100 (e.g.,
- Choose weighted or simple average from the "Weighted?" dropdown:
- No = simple average (all grades equal weight).
- Yes = weighted average (you'll enter a weight for each subject, e.g., 1.5 for a double-period class).
- Click "Calculate Average". The result shows:
- Your average percentage (rounded to 2 decimals).
- The corresponding letter grade (e.g., A, B+, C-).
- The formula used (simple or weighted).
Tip: Invalid inputs (e.g., "XYZ" or a grade above 100) will highlight the field in red. Correct them and recalculate.
