This calculator estimates materials and cost for a fence using imperial units (feet and inches). Follow these steps:
- Enter Total Length (ft) – the full length of the fence line.
- Enter Height (ft) – the fence height (used for reference, not in calculations).
- Set Post Spacing (ft) – distance between posts (default 8 ft).
- Set Rails per Section – number of horizontal rails between posts (default 2).
- Set Picket Width (in) – width of each picket (default 5.5 in).
- Set Picket Gap (in) – space between pickets (default 1 in).
- Enter Cost per Post ($) – price per post.
- Enter Cost per Rail ($) – price per rail.
