How to Use the FDIC Calculator
This calculator estimates your total FDIC insurance coverage based on deposit amounts across six ownership categories. Each category is insured up to $250,000 per depositor, per bank.
- Enter deposit amounts in the fields for each category: Single, Joint, Revocable Trust, Irrevocable Trust, Retirement, and Business/Corporate accounts. Use whole numbers (e.g., 150000) without commas or dollar signs.
- Click "Calculate Coverage" to see your results.
- Review the output:
- Total Deposits – the sum of all entered amounts.
- Insured Amount – the total covered by FDIC insurance (capped at $250,000 per category).
Note: All inputs must be non-negative numbers. Invalid entries trigger a red error indicator. The formula applies the $250,000 limit individually to each category before summing.
