How to Use the Dynasty Baseball Trade Calculator
- Enter Player Details: Fill in the name, age (18–45), and average WAR (last 3 years) for both players.
- Select Positions: Choose each player’s primary position from the dropdown. Position factors adjust value (e.g., Catcher = 1.2, Pitcher = 0.7).
- Set League Context: Pick your league size (10–16 teams) and scoring type (Roto, H2H Categories, or H2H Points).
- Calculate: Click the “Calculate Trade Value” button.
- Read the Result: The tool shows which player has higher trade value and the exact formula used. A difference under 0.5 means the trade is fair.
Key Notes:
- WAR must be a non-negative number (e.g., 5.2). Ages must be between 18 and 45.
- The formula is:
WAR × Position Factor × Age Factor × League Factor × Scoring Factor. - Age factor peaks at 27–28 and declines after 30. Younger players get a boost.
- All inputs are required. Missing names or invalid numbers will show an error.
