This calculator helps you determine the dimensional weight (also called DIM weight) for shipping packages. It compares the package's actual weight to its dimensional weight and shows the billable weight (the higher of the two).
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Enter Package Dimensions (in inches): Input the Length, Width, and Height of your package. All values must be positive numbers.
- Enter Actual Weight (in pounds): Type the actual weight of the package. Must be a positive number.
- Select DIM Divisor: Choose the carrier-specific divisor from the dropdown:
- 139 – UPS / FedEx (standard)
- 166 – USPS
- 250 – DHL
- Click "Calculate Dimensional Weight" – The results will appear below, showing:
- Dimensional Weight = (Length × Width × Height) ÷ Divisor
- Billable Weight = the greater of Dimensional Weight and Actual Weight
Note: All inputs must be in inches and pounds (imperial units). If you have metric measurements, convert them first (1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 lb = 0.4536 kg).
