How to Use the DevEx Calculator
- Enter your metrics in the four input fields:
- Cycle Time (days) – Average time from code commit to deployment.
- Deployments per week – How often you deploy to production.
- Developer Satisfaction (1-10) – Team satisfaction rating (1 = lowest, 10 = highest).
- PR Review Time (hours) – Average time to review a pull request.
- Click "Calculate DevEx Score" – The form validates inputs automatically.
- Read your results:
- DevEx Score – A percentage from 0 to 100.
- Rating – Excellent (≥80), Good (60–79), Average (40–59), or Poor (<40).
- Formula explanation – Shows how each metric is normalized and weighted.
Important: All inputs must be positive numbers. Cycle time and PR review time are inversely related to score (lower is better). Deployments per week and satisfaction are directly related (higher is better).
