How to Use the Delusion Calculator

This tool estimates how likely a belief is a delusion based on three factors. Enter values from 0 to 100 for each:

  • Conviction – How strongly the belief is held (higher = more delusion-like).
  • Cultural Acceptance – How widely accepted the belief is in the person’s culture (higher = less delusion-like).
  • Evidence – How much objective evidence supports the belief (higher = less delusion-like).

Steps:

  1. Fill in each field with a number between 0 and 100.
  2. Click "Calculate Delusion Likelihood".
  3. View the result: a percentage score and a category (e.g., "Very High Likelihood").

Formula: Score = (Conviction × 0.5) + ((100 – Cultural) × 0.3) + ((100 – Evidence) × 0.2). Higher scores indicate higher delusion likelihood.

All inputs must be whole numbers or decimals between 0 and 100. Invalid entries will show a red error.
