Enter the length and width of the area in feet, the depth in inches, select the bag size (40, 60, or 80 lb), and optionally a waste percentage. The calculator computes the volume and divides by the bag's cubic footage, rounding up.
We support 40 lb (0.3 cu ft), 60 lb (0.45 cu ft), and 80 lb (0.6 cu ft) bags. Select the one you plan to use.
A waste factor of 5-10% is common to account for spillage, uneven subgrade, or over-excavation. The default is 10%.
This calculator assumes a rectangular slab. For other shapes, estimate the area and use the equivalent length and width.
