How to Use the Certificate Calculator
- Enter Course Fee ($): The cost of the course itself (e.g., 500). Must be a non-negative number.
- Enter Exam Fee ($): The cost per exam attempt (e.g., 200). Must be non-negative.
- Enter Required Study Hours: Total study hours needed (e.g., 120). Must be a whole number or decimal.
- Enter Hours per Week: How many hours you plan to study weekly (e.g., 10). Use 0.5 for half-hours.
- Enter Pass Rate (%): Your expected pass rate as a percentage (0–100). Higher means fewer retakes.
- Click "Calculate": The form validates all inputs. If any field is invalid, it shows an error.
What the Results Mean:
- Total Cost: Course fee + (exam fee × expected attempts).
- Study Duration: Study hours ÷ hours per week (in weeks).
- Adjusted Study Hours: Total study hours × expected attempts (accounts for retakes).
- Expected Attempts: 1 ÷ (pass rate / 100), rounded up (e.g., 80% pass rate = 2 attempts).
Tip: All inputs must be zero or positive. Pass rate must be between 0 and 100. Use decimal points for cents or half-hours.
