How to Use the ACT Score Calculator
- Enter your raw scores – For each ACT section (English, Math, Reading, Science), type the number of questions you answered correctly. Maximums: English 75, Math 60, Reading 40, Science 40.
- Check for errors – If you enter a number outside the allowed range, a red warning will appear. Correct it before proceeding.
- Click “Calculate Score” – The button will process your inputs and show your results below.
- Review your results – You’ll see:
- Composite Score (out of 36) – the average of your four section scale scores, rounded to the nearest whole number.
- Raw Scores – the numbers you entered for each section.
- Estimated Percentile – how your composite ranks nationally (e.g., 99th–100th percentile).
- Understand the conversion – Raw scores are converted to scale scores (1–36) using an approximate table. The composite is the average of these scale scores.
Tip: Use whole numbers only. The calculator does not accept decimals or negative values.
