How to Use the Auction House Cut Calculator
- Enter Item Sell Price (copper): Input the price you plan to list the item for, in copper. For example, 10000 copper = 1 gold.
- Set Quantity: Specify how many of the item you’re selling (minimum 1).
- Choose Auction Duration: Select 12, 24, or 48 hours. Longer durations increase the deposit fee.
- Optional Bid Price: Leave blank to use the sell price as the bid price. Enter a lower amount if you want a starting bid.
- Click “Calculate”: The tool shows:
- Deposit – non-refundable fee based on item value and duration.
- Commission – 5% of the sell price per item (charged upon sale).
- Total Cut – deposit + commission.
- Net Revenue – what you keep after fees.
All values are in copper. The deposit formula approximates vendor price as sell price / 20, then rounds to silver.

Frequently Asked Questions
The auction house cut consists of a deposit (15% of the vendor sell price, multiplied by the duration factor) and a 5% commission on the final sale price. The deposit is refunded if the item sells.
The deposit is 15% of the item's vendor sell price, multiplied by the duration multiplier (12h = 1, 24h = 2, 48h = 4), then rounded up to the nearest silver (100 copper).
If the auction expires without a buyer, you lose the deposit but the commission is not charged. The calculator shows the deposit as part of the total cut for a successful sale.
