How to Use the Wind Chill Calculator
- Enter Temperature (°F): Type the air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (e.g., 32). This calculator only works for temperatures at or below 50°F.
- Enter Wind Speed (mph): Type the wind speed in miles per hour (e.g., 15). Wind speed must be at least 3 mph.

- View the Result: The wind chill temperature appears in °F, rounded to two decimals. Below it, you'll see the formula used.

Wind chill is the perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body due to the flow of air. It measures how cold it feels when wind is present.
The calculator uses the National Weather Service (NWS) formula: Wind Chill (°F) = 35.74 + 0.6215×T - 35.75×V^0.16 + 0.4275×T×V^0.16, where T is temperature in °F and V is wind speed in mph.
The formula is valid for temperatures at or below 50°F and wind speeds at or above 3 mph. For values outside these ranges, wind chill is not defined.
