How to Use the Sun Life Financial Life Expectancy Calculator
This tool estimates your total life expectancy based on key lifestyle factors. Follow these steps:
- Enter your current age (0–120). This is required.
- Select your gender (Male or Female).
- Choose your smoking status: Non-smoker, Former smoker, or Current smoker.
- Optional: Enter your BMI (Body Mass Index, e.g., 24.5). Leave blank if unknown.

- Enter alcohol drinks per week (0–100). Default is 0.
- Click "Calculate Life Expectancy".
What the result means: You'll see your estimated total life expectancy in years, plus your remaining years. The calculation adjusts for age, gender, smoking, BMI (underweight, overweight, or obese), exercise (up to 5 hours benefit), and heavy alcohol use (over 14 drinks/week reduces expectancy).
Note: All inputs are in standard units (years, BMI, hours, drinks). No metric/imperial conversion needed.
