How to use this tool?
This calculator determines the optimal internal volume (Vb) for a sealed subwoofer enclosure based on the driver's Thiele-Small parameters and your desired tuning frequency.
- Enter Vas (Liters): The driver's equivalent compliance volume. Must be a positive number.
- Enter Qts: The driver's total Q factor. Must be a positive number.
- Enter Fs (Hz): The driver's resonant frequency. Must be a positive number.
- Enter Desired Tuning Frequency Fb (Hz): The frequency you want the enclosure to be tuned to. Must be a positive number.
- Click "Calculate". The result shows the optimal enclosure volume in liters.
Note: All inputs use metric units (liters and Hz). Ensure your values are positive numbers. If the result is not positive, check that Fb is not too low relative to Fs and Qts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Vas is the equivalent compliance volume of the subwoofer driver, typically in liters. It represents the volume of air that has the same compliance as the driver's suspension.
Qts is the total Q factor of the driver at its resonant frequency, combining mechanical and electrical losses. It influences the enclosure design.
Fb is the desired resonant frequency of the enclosure (port tuning frequency). It affects the low-frequency response and should be chosen based on application.
