How to Use the Percent Yield Calculator
- Enter Actual Yield (g): Type the actual amount of product you obtained from your experiment, in grams. This must be a positive number (e.g., 4.5).
- Enter Theoretical Yield (g): Type the maximum possible amount of product calculated from stoichiometry, in grams. This must be a positive number greater than zero (e.g., 5.0).
- Calculate: Click the Calculate Percent Yield button. If either input is invalid (negative, zero, or empty), an error message will appear.
- Read the Result: The percent yield is displayed as a percentage (e.g., 90.00%). The formula used is shown below the result for clarity.
Note: All values must be in grams (metric). The calculator uses the formula: (Actual Yield ÷ Theoretical Yield) × 100.
