How to use this tool?
This calculator computes either the Future Value (FV) of a series of payments or the Payment (PMT) needed to reach a Present Value (PV). It supports both Ordinary Annuities (payments at end of period) and Annuities Due (payments at beginning).
- Select Annuity Type – Choose Ordinary (end of period) or Annuity Due (beginning).
- Choose Calculation Mode – Pick Future Value from Payments or Payment from Present Value.
- Enter Inputs – Depending on mode, fill in:
- For Future Value: Payment per period ($), Interest Rate per period (%), Number of periods.
- For Payment: Present Value ($), Interest Rate per period (%), Number of periods.
- Click "Calculate" – The result appears below with the formula used.
Important: All monetary values must be positive. Interest rate is a percentage (e.g., 5 for 5%). Number of periods must be a whole number ≥ 1. The calculator automatically adjusts for zero interest rates.
