This calculator estimates the number of metal panels, material cost, labor cost, and total cost for a simple rectangular roof. All measurements are in feet (ft) and inches (in), and costs are in US dollars ($).
- Enter Roof Dimensions – Input the Roof Length and Roof Width in feet (e.g., 40 ft and 30 ft).
- Select Panel Width – Choose the width of each metal panel in inches (standard is 36 in). The calculator assumes panel length equals roof length.
- Set Waste Factor – Enter a percentage for material waste (default is 10%). Use 0 if no waste.
- Input Costs – Provide the Cost per Panel (in $) and Labor Cost per Square Foot (in $).
- Calculate – Click the Calculate button. Results will show total roof area, panels needed, material cost, labor cost, and total cost.
