How to use this tool?
Step 1: Set the number of courses you are taking (1–20) using the Number of Courses field. The input fields will update automatically.
Step 2: For each course, optionally enter a course name (e.g., "Math") for your reference.
Step 3: Choose the Grade Type for each course: Letter (e.g., A, B+) or Percentage (e.g., 93, 85).
Step 4: Enter the grade in the corresponding field. Use the exact format: letter grades like A, B+, C- (case-insensitive) or percentages from 0 to 100.
Step 5: Click the Calculate GPA button. Your GPA on a 4.0 scale will appear below, along with the conversion table for reference.
Note: Each course counts as 1 credit. The GPA is the average of all grade points. Invalid or empty grades will show an error—fix them and recalculate.

Middle school GPA is calculated by converting each course grade to a grade point on a 4.0 scale, then averaging those points. For letter grades: A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, C-=1.7, D+=1.3, D=1.0, F=0.0. For percentages, we use a standard conversion table.
A GPA of 3.0 or higher (B average) is generally considered good in middle school. Many honor societies require a 3.5 or higher.
This calculator assumes each course has equal weight (1 credit). If your school uses weighted credits, you may need a more advanced calculator.
