How to use this tool?
This calculator computes the gematria value of any word or phrase using four different numbering systems. Follow these steps:
- Enter text in the Enter Text field. You can type any word or phrase (e.g., "hello", "שלום").
- Choose a system from the dropdown:
- Hebrew (Standard Mispar Hechrechi) – uses Hebrew letters with standard numeric values (א=1, ב=2, … ת=400).
- English (A=1, B=2…) – assigns A=1, B=2, … Z=26 (case-insensitive).
- Simple (A=1, B=2… ignoring case) – same as English but explicitly ignores case.
- Jewish (Hebrew letters mapped to English) – maps English letters to Hebrew-style values (A=1, B=2, … Z=800).
- Click Calculate to get the result.
- View the output:
- The total value appears in large bold text.
- Below it, a breakdown shows each character’s contribution and the sum.
Note: Only valid characters for the selected system are counted. Non-alphabetic or unsupported characters are ignored. If no valid characters are found, an error message will appear.
