How to use this tool?
Use the Gas Mileage Calculator to compute fuel efficiency and optional fuel cost. Follow these steps:
- Enter Distance – Input the distance traveled (in miles for MPG, in kilometers for L/100km). Must be a positive number.
- Enter Fuel Used – Input the fuel consumed (in gallons for MPG, in liters for L/100km). Must be a positive number.
- Select Unit – Choose either Miles per Gallon (MPG) (imperial) or Liters per 100 km (metric).
- Optional: Fuel Price – Enter the price per gallon (if using MPG) or per liter (if using L/100km) to calculate total cost.
- Click "Calculate" – The result shows your fuel efficiency and, if a price was entered, the total fuel cost.
Note: Ensure units match: miles + gallons for MPG, kilometers + liters for L/100km. Invalid inputs (zero or negative) will show an error.
