How to use this tool?
This calculator evaluates common mathematical functions at a given x value. Follow these steps:
- Select a function type from the dropdown (e.g., Linear, Quadratic, Exponential). The coefficient fields adjust automatically.
- Enter the x value in the numeric field. For logarithmic functions, x must be greater than 0.
- Set the coefficients (a, b, c, d) as needed. Defaults are provided; only visible fields are used.
- Click "Calculate" or press Enter. The result displays with four decimal places and the formula used.
Note: All inputs accept decimal numbers. The logarithmic function uses natural log (ln). If an error occurs (e.g., invalid x or infinite result), a message appears in red.

Frequently Asked Questions
It supports linear (ax+b), quadratic (ax²+bx+c), cubic (ax³+bx²+cx+d), exponential (a*b^x), logarithmic (a*ln(x)+b), and trigonometric (a*sin(bx+c)+d) functions.
Yes, you can enter any real number. The calculator handles negative and decimal values correctly.
The calculator will show an inline error message. For example, logarithmic functions require x > 0.
