How to use this tool?

This calculator solves a system of two linear equations using Cramer's rule (elimination method). Follow these steps:

  1. Enter coefficients for Equation 1: a₁x + b₁y = c₁. Fill in a₁, b₁, and c₁.
  2. Enter coefficients for Equation 2: a₂x + b₂y = c₂. Fill in a₂, b₂, and c₂.
  3. Click "Solve".

The calculator shows the solution (x and y values) and step-by-step calculations. If the determinant is zero, it alerts that no unique solution exists. All numbers can be decimals or integers.

Frequently Asked Questions

The elimination method solves a system of linear equations by adding or subtracting equations to eliminate one variable, then solving for the remaining variable.

If the determinant is zero, the system either has no solution or infinitely many solutions. Our calculator will show an error.

Yes, you can enter decimal numbers. The calculator handles them accurately.
