Frequently Asked Questions

Dimensional weight (DIM weight) is a pricing technique used by shipping carriers to account for the space a package occupies in relation to its actual weight. It is calculated by multiplying length, width, and height, then dividing by a carrier-specific divisor.

Common divisors: UPS/FedEx use 139, USPS uses 166, and DHL uses 194. Check with your carrier for the most current divisor, as it may change.

Billable weight is the greater of the actual weight and the dimensional weight. Carriers charge based on the billable weight.
