How to use the Dilution Ratio Calculator

  1. Enter the ratio – In the Concentrate Parts field, type the number of parts of concentrate (e.g., 1). In the Water Parts field, type the number of parts of water (e.g., 10).
  2. Enter the total volume – In the Total Volume (L) field, type the final volume you want to prepare in liters (e.g., 1).
  3. Click Calculate – Press the blue Calculate button.
  4. Read the results – The calculator shows exactly how much concentrate and water to mix, in liters. A formula explanation is also provided.

Important notes:

  • All inputs must be positive numbers (e.g., 0.5, 1, 10).
  • Use the same unit for total volume (liters). The result will be in liters.
  • The ratio is parts by volume (e.g., 1:10 means 1 part concentrate + 10 parts water).

Frequently Asked Questions

A dilution ratio expresses the proportion of concentrate to water, e.g., 1:10 means 1 part concentrate to 10 parts water.

Enter the concentrate parts, water parts, and total volume, then click Calculate. The result shows the volume of concentrate and water needed.

The calculator works with any volume unit as long as you are consistent. The result will be in the same unit as the total volume (e.g., liters, gallons).
