How to use the CMU Block Calculator
- Enter Wall Dimensions (in feet): Provide the Wall Length and Wall Height (e.g., 20 ft and 10 ft). These are required.
- Set Block Size (in inches): The default block is 16 in long by 8 in high. Adjust Block Length and Block Height if using different CMU blocks.
- Add Wastage (percentage): Enter a waste factor (e.g., 5%) to account for breakage and cuts. Default is 5%.
- Click "Calculate": The calculator will show:
- Total blocks needed (rounded up).
- Mortar bags (80 lb) and Sand (tons) estimates based on standard ratios.
- Review errors: If any input is missing or invalid, a red error message will appear.
All inputs use imperial units (feet and inches). The formula calculates wall area in sq ft, divides by block area (sq ft), then adds wastage.
