How to use this tool?
This calculator estimates your total cash back based on spending in four categories and their respective reward rates.
- Enter your spending amounts in the Grocery Spend, Gas Spend, Dining Spend, and Other Spend fields. Use whole numbers or decimals (e.g., 500 or 250.75). All values must be non-negative.
- Adjust the cash back rates (percentages) for each category. Defaults are 3% for Grocery, 2% for Gas, 2% for Dining, and 1% for Other. Rates must be between 0 and 100.
- Click Calculate Cash Back. The total cash back and a detailed breakdown appear below.
- Review the results: The total is shown at the top, with each category’s contribution and its applied rate listed underneath.
Tip: Use the default rates as a starting point, then modify them to match your credit card’s actual rewards structure.
