How to Use the AP Precalc Calculator
- Select a function type from the dropdown (e.g., Linear, sin(x), log).
- Enter an x value in the numeric field (e.g., 2). This is required.
- If you chose a polynomial (Linear, Quadratic, Cubic), adjust the coefficient fields (a, b, c, d) as needed. Other functions hide these fields.
- Click Calculate to see the result and the step-by-step formula below.
- Click Reset to clear all inputs and results.
Trigonometric functions use radians. For log and ln, x must be greater than 0. Results show up to 6 decimal places.

Frequently Asked Questions
It can evaluate linear, quadratic, cubic, sin, cos, tan, log (base 10), ln, and exponential functions at a given x-value.
The calculator uses radians, which is standard in AP Precalculus. Ensure your x-value is in radians.
The calculator will display an inline error message and not compute until a valid number is entered.
